Cultural Employment

1. In 2002, in the EU25, cultural employment, which covers both employment in cultural occupations in the whole economy and all employment in cultural economic activities, was estimated at 4.2 million people and accounted for 2.5% of total employment.
2. The employment in culture sector was always on the low level. It started to increase a few years ago and now we can clearly see the economic element in various culture aspects.
3. The European Social Fund support UE's efforts to increase employment, fight against unemployment and prevent people from dropping out of the labour market. European Union by investing in various programmes helps people to improve their job prospects so they can work in cultural and craft sector.
4. The digital culture - mix of traditional and modern culture shows promise, especially for creative individuals. It gives possibility of profitable employment in such areas like multimedia and software.
